Manchester United will look to return to winning ways when Wigan visit Old Trafford this Saturday. While their away form has let them down this season, at home, Manchester United have been strong and Wigan will be up against it here.
Rooney has returned from his brief retreat in the United States looking fitter than he has ever been over the past year and sources have indicated that the striker is ready to fire on all cylinders and get back to goalscoring form. With Dimitar Berbatov experiencing a dramatic dip in form in front of goal and Javier Hernandez still far from the finished product, United are now back hoping to rely on their talismanic but troubled star.
Hargreaves, Valencia and Owen will continue to sit out for Manchester United while Rio Ferdinand is a doubt. On England duty during the week Ferdinand pulled up with a hamstring problem but he is expected to make the starting line up that will face Wigan.
Manchester United clash against Wigan this weekend hoping to shrug off their indifferent form and narrow the gap at the top of the premiership table over rivals Chelsea and Arsenal.
