Milan remain without a number of players through injury, with Brazilian forward Alexandre Pato (thigh) the latest name to be sidelined.
Pato has been ruled out for a month and joins defenders Luca Antonini, Philippe Mexes and Daniele Bonera on the sidelines.
Midfielders Mathieu Flamini, Gennaro Gattuso, Massimo Ambrosini and Kevin-Prince Boateng all also miss out, as do forwards Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robinho.
Cesena travel to the San Siro with coach Marco Giampaolo having an almost fully fit squad to choose from.
But Giampaolo is without Francesco Antonioli and Vincenzo Rennella.
We’ll need the same spirit that we showed on the pitch against Udinese. We haven’t many players available. The same guys play every three days and we’ll need to play a similar game to the one we played on Wednesday. Cesena are well organized and dangerous on the counter attack. We’ll need this season’s first clean sheet.
