So lets enjoy this exclusive telecast of SK Sturm Graz and Juventus match.
New coach Luigi Del Neri will be looking to a successful Europa League campaign and things got off to a good start with Juventus beating Shamrock 2-0 in the first leg before an Alessandro Del Piero goal late in the second half gave them a 1-0 win in the second leg.

Sturm Graz too have had a fairly comfortable outing in the third qualifying round, beating Georgian side Dinamo Tbilisi 3-1 on aggregate. The Austrian club beat Metalist Kharkiv in this round last season but manager Franco Foda will be aware that Juventus will provide a more difficult challenge for his side.
Juventus suffered an upset against eventual UEFA Europa League runners-up Fulham last season. The Nerazzurri are back to start all over again when they affront Sturm Graz on Thursday night.

Alessandro Del Piero is ready for the challenge whereas goalkeeper Alex Manninger remains wary of the Austrian side. Actually, Juventus arguably had an unconvincing preseason run – having lost in the Trofeo TIM Cup.

However, Captain Alessandro Del Piero has brushed away fears as he insists that those games were nothing more than friendly matches of low importance. Looking forward to their UEFA Europa League clash against Sturm Graz, the Italian skipper declared:

“As far as we are concerned, we are only focusing on the games against Sturm Graz right now. They will guarantee our qualification to the Europa League group stages.”
But the Austrians are also keen to cause an upset and Juventus goalkeeper Alex Manninger is aware of

Sturm Graz’s potential. Speaking to the media, the native Austrian explained:

“Many have asked me for information. But, it has been a long time since I played in the Austrian league. I played against Sturm Graz a long time ago. Now, there are no players there from that time.

“The level of football is below what it is in Italy. But, we will come up against opponents that are further ahead in their preparation with a month of matches already in their legs.

“They will run a lot, they will try to play attacking football. We have to be careful… but I’m confident.”

SK Sturm Graz Vs Juventus

Having battled their way past Dinamo Tbilisi 3-1 over two legs, Sturm Graz’s reward for their efforts is an encounter against Serie A giants Juventus. Sturm are by no means strangers to European competition, having featured in the Champions League on several occasions, even managing to progress to the second group stage in 2000, but such heady days are a thing of the past. It’s been close to a decade since they were even in the top two of the Austrian Bundesliga, and their cup glory last season has simply offered them a window from which to look back into their golden age.

Juventus are another side struggling to come to grips with present day demands. Since the Calciopoli scandal they have gone without winning any silverware, aside from the 2007 Serie B crown, and the high hopes the club had before last season have wholly been obliterated by a turgid campaign that saw them ultimately finish seventh in Serie A yet still sneak in the European back door. Once again this season is about the Old Lady getting her pomp back, and after a dramatic defeat to Fulham last term in this very competition, the Bianconeri will be wary to treat every opponent with the utmost respect. Doing exactly that against Shamrock Rovers in the last round, they earned a 3-0 aggregate win.

Juve continue to be without injured goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, but they should otherwise have a complete panel for this encounter. With the start of the Serie A season still over a week away, a strong squad should be deployed by Luigi Del Neri.

Probable Starting XI: Storari; Motta, Bonucci, Chiellini, De Ceglie; Lanzafame, Sissoko, Marchisio, Pepe; Diego; Amauri
